Media Downplays Terror Link
Bill O’Reilly reported last nigh that the Culture and Media Institute did a study on the big three television station’s reporting between November 5 and November 10 on the Fort Hood massacre. The study specifically looked at how ABC, CBS and NBC handled reporting on the terrorism and radical Islam link.
During this five day period:
- 85% of all reports did not mention the word terror.
- Terrorism was mentioned in only 7 of 48 reports.
- Only 29% of all reports mentioned that Hasan was a Muslim in evening news reports.
- Half of those reports mentioning Hasan was a Muslim defended the religion.
- Before President Obama hinted at ‘extremist links’ on November 10, 93% of the stories ignored a terror connection. All three networks mentioned terrorism after this November 10 speech.
The big three seem to be taking their cues from the White House. On the day of the event, President Obama called for ‘care to not jump to conclusions’. As evidence mounted hourly pointing toward jihad, these media groups maintained an even tone until signaled by another White House speech that it was now okay to consider this a terror event. They fell right into line.
I have written before about The Manipulators of Reality saying ‘The media and our politicians manipulate facts and information knowingly both through commission and omission. The media intentionally takes known information and further distorts, spins, re-creates and filters it resulting in the delivery of misinformation.’ No surprise today but a year ago when I wrote this it was considered radical thought. At least, among my friends.

Along those same lines, MSNBC did a story this morning on the departure of Greg Craig. They failed to mention that his replacement, Bob Bauer was the husband of Anita Dunn.
The probably wanted to stay away from that pesky little statement that Anita made about how Mao Zedong shaped her political philosophy.

I am tired of knowing what the presidents speech is going to be almost word for word a month before he has spoken . What is the reason for this? Is it to get our permission or find out beforehand if it will be allright with the public???

With all the friendly treatment President Obama gets from the media, it’s no wonder they want to try to help out the newspapers. Take a look at my blog . There is a link there to a Reuters story about the Democrats wanting to save the NYT and others from internet news.
