Obama’s Economic Promise Keeper Plan

Comments abound in both the media and from politicians about the lack of detail President Elect Obama is providing in his Economic Stimulus Plan. I submit to you, more than enough specifics are provided in my catalogue of 895 Obama promises, also known as the Barack Obama Promise Tracker.

Furthermore, long before there was an economic crisis, Mr. Obama very clearly and very carefully laid out his Plan for America. This plan was complete with hundreds of promises to spend, spend, spend. The proposed Economic Stimulus Plan is the same pre-financial crisis spending package simply re-named to fit into the crisis of the day. This is not an Economic Stimulus Plan, it is an Economic Promise Keeper Plan.

What wise man spends his way out of debt? Think about these three topics:

  1. No people have ever benefited from big government
  2. Our government created this mess so why would we trust them to get us out of it
  3. A single person has yet to be held accountable

I have taken the time to read all of Mr. Obama’s Plan for America and each and every campaign speech. I must commend his openness, making all of this information available on the internet. His speeches were extremely well written and very inspirational. However, the more I read, the more I became alarmed at the enormous size of his plan and the enormous expense to us all.

The current economic crisis provides him the perfect cover, the perfect camouflage, the perfect excuse to spend the country into bankruptcy. Do you know one of his promises was to have a budget that would Pay As You Go (PayGo)? Once upon a time, in a land far far away, budget deficits were a bad thing. Suddenly they are not only accepted, they are now encouraged?

Please download and read my Barack Obama Promise Tracker. If you come to a different conclusion than I did, please feel free to contact me as I would relish a spirited debate.

Hi Todd - I heard you on Glenn Beck and am going to read the promise tracer next. Thanks for doing this. I commend your effort. Now if we could just figure out how to stop it.

The best idea I have heard to jumpstart the economy is to take this stimulous money and give it to the PEOPLE (US Citizens over 18) to spend as we see fit. Giving the money away to keep Pres. Obama’s campaign promises is ludicrous and most important, won’t help.

I hope you are able to partner with Glenn and get your message across. Thank you.

This is the best idea I have heard of in a long time. I wish someone would have done this with Fmr presidents. I will definitely be keeping up with the tracker and with your site. As for the previous comment from Bonnie, I disagree but not in principle. I think that the people need to take this man and their representatives to task and demand an end to this ridiculous circus of spending. CUT THE TAXES of the people who CREATE JOBS and they will CREATE JOBS. Stop punishing those who do the most with the least and start punishing those who do the least with the most.

    Todd-

I also heard you on Glenn Beck. Thanks for doing something and not just complaining or unplugging. Good luck.

Todd, heard you on GB as well. Fantastic idea, can we adapt it to the legislative cycle for all bills that go before the House and Senate? With enough resources it could potentially be possible for State and Local levels as well. Those of us who truly care about the republic, true democracy, the free market system, life liberty and the pursuit of happiness will have the same information as the lawmakers and be able to personally keep tabs on what our Representatives and Senators are voting on so we can keep them clued in and keep our newsmedia honest! As a matter of fact links could be included so individuals could directly inform their Congressmen how they believe they should vote on these bills. This is our opportunity to begin directing how our money is spent. This would be the closest thing to ancient Greek democracy our republic will have ever had been privilged to participate in! The Son’s and Daughter’s of liberty live!

This is a great idea - I like it a lot. One suggestion: Adding more detailed information used for your yes/no assessments would permit the user to better understand the assessment and decide for themselves if it was subjectively or objectively derived. This would help to add credibility for the assessments.
